KEMANGI (Ocimum sanctum)

Nama Umum :

Seraung, lampes (Sunda), lampes (Jawa), kemangek (Madura), uku-uku (Bali), lufe-lufe (Ternate), bramakusu (Minahasa/Manado).

Deskripsi :

Aromatic, erect or ascending, short-lived perennial herb, up to 1 m tall, with a brown, thick taproot up to 6 mm and many secondary roots. Stem quadrangular, up about 6 mm thick, much branched, glabrous or pilose, light green to dark purple, base sometimes woody.

Kegunaan :

immuno-modulatory, anti-stress, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, hypoglycaemic and hypolipidaemic activity

Budidaya :

Ocimum sanctum thrives well on a variety of soils and climatic  conditions. Rich loam to poor laterite, alkaline to moderately acidic soils are well suited for cultivation of Ocimum sanctum. Well drained soils help in better vegetative growth. It flourishes under fair to high rainfall and humid conditions. Long days and high temperatures have been found to be favourable for plant growth and higher oil production. Tropical and subtropical climate is suited for its cultivation. Waterlogged conditions can cause root rot and result in stunted growth. So proper drainage should be provided.

TAKOKAK (Solanum torvum)

Nama Umum :

Terung pipit (Melayu), Rimbang (Minagkabau), Trung cawing (Aceh), Cepokak (Jawa), Takokak (Sunda)

Deskripsi :
