Peraturan
PKHT merupakan pengembangan Pusat Kajian Buah Tropika berdasarkan SK Rektor No : 027/Um/1996 tanggal 3 Mei 1996. Pada Tahun 2011 PKBT berubah nama menjadi Pusat Kajian Hortikultura Tropika (PKHT) melalui perluasan mandat untuk tanaman buah dan sayur dan telah terpilih sebagai Binaan Pusat Unggulan Iptek dari Kementrian Riset dan Teknologi berdasarkan SK Kemenristek No : 244/M/Kp/IX/2011 pada tanggal 15 September 2011 tentang penetapan lembaga penelitian dan pengembangan yang akan ditingkatkan menjadi Pusat Unggulan Iptek. Soft launching PKHT diluncurkan pada pembukaan Seminar Nasional Hortikultura di Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran (BALITSA) Lembang Bandung, 23-24 November. Pengukuhan PKHT ditetapkan pula melalui SK Rektor IPB No : 212/I3/OT/2022 tanggal 6 Desember 2011.
